One Hit Wonder

Think about the week ahead.

If you had to choose just one thing to focus on, one thing to check off your to-do list, what would it be?If an answer just popped into your head, great. You've got your focus.

If your brain said, “Just one thing? Are you kidding? I’ve got at least 12 top priorities!”: keep reading.

Here’s the truth:

When everything is a priority, nothing is.

We often tell ourselves, “I can’t just focus on one thing, I have to get it all done.”

But when we refuse to prioritize, we usually end up frozen, overwhelmed, and scrolling our phones instead of doing anything.

This week, my #1 has nothing to do with work or the holidays.

It’s being there in the evenings for my kids, who have finals. I want to be home, have dinner, and be available if they need help. That’s my focus.

Yes, I’ll do other things. But that’s the one that matters most.

So how about you?

What’s your #1 thing this week, the one that will matter more than the rest?

JUST FOR FUN

Holiday Dinner, but Make It Global  🥳🌏

I’ve been pondering what to make for Christmas dinner this year when I host… and naturally found myself deep in a list of #1 holiday food traditions by country.

Japan’s was my favorite:

KFC.

Yes, really. Kentucky Fried chicken buckets are the thing in Japan on Christmas Eve. You have to order weeks in advance, and at the store they feature Colonel Sanders dressed up like Santa while you pick up your “party bucket”.

Do I stick with tradition… or do I go full Japan and serve up a holiday fried chicken feast? 🍗
