Before coaching, Michelle spent 20 years in corporate America, helping businesses simplify and streamline. She's a former overwhelmed working woman herself, who was running on empty and saying yes to everything. In 2017, she left corporate to become a life coach, training under Martha Beck. Since then, she's helped hundreds of women trade overwhelm for calm.

When she's not coaching, you'll find her cheering on her kids from the sidelines, lifting weights at Burn Bootcamp, or organizing something just for fun.

People Pleasing
How to stop people pleasing: why women say yes when they mean no, and my 3-step "Love and Fit Test" for saying no without guilt.
Why we can't stop
- We're socialized to put other people first
- We're afraid people won't like us
- We avoid conflict
- We tie our "enoughness" to being in service to other people
How to stop, with the Love and Fit Test
- Use the Powerful Pause: take a few seconds before responding
- Ask if you love the idea and if it fits the lifestyle you want
- If the answer is no, say no without over-explaining
The To-Don't List
Forget the to-do list: how a "To-Don't List" helps overwhelmed women go from stressed and exhausted to calm, with actual white space on their calendar.
The concept
- A To-Don't List makes decisions easier and life simpler
- It was inspired by my grandmother, who had clear boundaries on what she did and didn't do
My To-Don't List
Work
- I don't take my laptop outside the office
- I don't work on weekends or after 4 pm
- I don't see clients on Tuesdays
- I only take clients for a minimum of six months
Clothing
- I don't wear uncomfortable clothes
Personal
- I don't spend time with people I don't enjoy
- I don't worry about others' opinions of me
- I don't work out on Sundays
- I don't cook dinner every night
- I don't make my kids' lunches
- I don't walk my dog (she prefers the backyard)
Time Management and Calendar Math
Why your to-do list never gets done (hint: it's not bad time management), and the simple "calendar math" your listeners can do today to feel less overwhelmed.
Why it happens
- Wishful planning: assuming you can get way more done in a day than is physically possible
- Planning your week as if you have more hours than you do
- New planners and apps organize the overload but don't reduce it
- The belief underneath it all: "I should be able to do it all"
How to fix it with calendar math
- Count your real open hours for the week
- Add up honest time estimates for your to-do list
- When the math doesn't work, cut, delegate, or lower the bar instead of working harder
