Time Saved. Peace Kept. Here’s How.

📝 What I Didn’t Do (On Purpose)

This week was back-to-school, which is always a busy time of extra meetings, forms, rides, etc. I got a lot done, but when I think about what actually helped me feel good this week, it wasn’t what I crossed off my to-do list. It was the space I created by doing less. On purpose.

Here are a couple of things I did to prevent my own overwhelm:

Skipped a meeting.

I read the notes instead and used that hour to have dinner with my kids. We laughed. I was present. Nothing fell apart.

Didn’t rush my morning.

I woke up a little earlier four days this week so that I could choose a slower pace. Coffee in hand. Journal open. No frantic energy. That peaceful half hour shaped my whole day.

Didn’t force a workout.

I was feeling run-down, so I went to bed early and then “slept in” (I use the quotes because remember when sleeping in meant noon? I mean 6:15 in this case 😂 ) instead of working out. Sometimes rest is the best choice.

None of these things added to my productivity list. But every single one gave me back something more valuable: time, energy, and peace.

💡 Your Turn

Think about the week ahead. What’s one thing that you can NOT do in order to make your week feel less jam packed and stressful?

JUST FOR FUN

If your calendar could talk, what would it say?

  1. “You blocked off time for rest, then scheduled over it. That was rude.”

  2. “Just curious — when were you planning to eat lunch today? I see meetings. I see errands. I see doom.”

  3. “You made me look busy so you’d feel important. I see what you did.”

  4. “This to-do list is unhinged. You’re not a robot. Try 3 things, max.”

  5. “Cancel one thing and I’ll give you your sanity back. Deal?”

  6. “Thank you for all of the pretty colors and plenty of white space. I’m thriving.”

  7. “I see you prioritizing your workout and lunch break like it’s sacred. Respect.”

  8. “Ooh, a nap block. You really do love me.”

  9. “You deleted that thing you were dreading and replaced it with a walk. 10 out of 10 would recommend.”

Reply and let me know which one suits you. Mine is usually a 6, but I veer into 3 and 4 territory at times!
