How to Feel Less Overwhelmed by Noticing the Good Stuff

Driving to the gym early one morning, still half asleep, I noticed the most beautiful sunrise, lighting up the whole sky in pink. I honestly don't think I would have noticed it if it wasn't directly in front of me on the wide open road.

I've had a lot on my plate lately, and when you're overwhelmed it's easy to stop noticing anything good. This was a very obvious and literal ray of sunshine, but it inspired me to look for, and find, little rays of sunshine everywhere:

  • A perfectly ripe and absolutely delicious summer peach.

  • My little nephew pausing for one second to kiss my arm and say "love you, mimi" as he zooms by with his cute blonde curls.

  • A beautiful journal (colorful cover, of course) and a set of new markers.

  • A note on the coffee maker saying "Coffee's ready to go, just press start. Love you."

  • Erling Haaland (IYKYK)

It turns out, when you look for rays of sunshine, you find them everywhere. And when you look for problems, you'll find them everywhere too.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is put on those rose-colored glasses and see what you find.

What was your little ray of sunshine this week?

HOT OFF THE PRESS

“A million-dollar decision is one that creates time and energy, frees up your mental space, and creates space for the stuff that matters to you.”

Bad news: Overwhelm doesn't just steal your peace of mind. It steals your ability to create opportunities and build wealth.

Good news: The same habits that reduce overwhelm are often the very same habits that create more wealth.

When you protect your time and make intentional decisions, you create space for both calm and growth. That's why, in this week's podcast episode, I share one of the biggest mindset shifts I've discovered after reading We Should All Be Millionaires by Rachel Rodgers.

If you're tired of feeling busy but not getting ahead, this episode is for you. Listen now and discover why creating more calm could be the smartest financial move you make.

“Boundaries are like a fence around your home - there to protect the things you value and want to prioritize.”

Think of your priorities like your home. Your boundaries aren't there to keep people out—they're the fence protecting everything that matters most inside.

That means every "yes" and every "no" is your decision. Not theirs.

It's uncomfortable at first. Saying no, leaving a meeting on time, or letting someone be disappointed never feels easy. But that temporary discomfort is far better than constantly sacrificing what matters most.

That's why this week's podcast episode, with coach Rebecca Olson, dives into a fresh way of thinking about boundaries—one that helps you stop waiting for other people to change and start protecting your priorities instead.

If you're tired of feeling stretched too thin, this episode is one you won't want to miss.
